The wrong ICE got me! Help me melt the cost of my recovery.
Donation protected
On the morning of January 21, I suffered a severe slip and fall on black ice that resulted in significant damage to my spine, requiring surgery to remove my C7 vertebrae and disc. I spent nearly a week in the hospital, including two days in the ER, three days waiting for an MRI, and then being transferred to the ICU. The procedure alone has cost around $8,000 even with insurance, and the expenses continue to add up.
As part of my recovery, I am required to wear a neck brace for 8 weeks, and I am currently undergoing physical therapy to regain strength and mobility in my hands. Unfortunately, due to nerve damage from the fall, I am unable to drive, live alone, or perform many daily tasks without assistance. My full recovery time is uncertain, as I am actively doing physical and occupational therapy for the purpose of regaining full use of my hands.
I am reaching out for help to cover medical expenses, ongoing therapy, and the costs of daily living during this difficult time. Any support would mean the world to me as I continue my healing journey. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
And as I told many people after the fall, I was worrying about the wrong ICE lol.
Anyways I don’t have high expectations I’ll fulfill the full amount of my medical cost but I’d be content if I manage to raise a cool 5,000 during these trying times.
