Help Me Move To Durham, North Carolina
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rose and I am fundraising to move out of South Carolina to finally be my authentic self. I am a trans woman in my 30s in Andrews, South Carolina, that lives with a toxic parent. I am 2 years into my medical transition and she unfortunately finds it embarrassing when other people accurately perceive my gender. I'm also autistic. While I've held jobs in the past, and was good at them, the combination of misgendering at home and mistreatment at work meant that I couldn't stay in those jobs. I'm hoping to eliminate both of those problems by moving into a more supportive environment.
This money will give me and my 4 year old chihuahua mix- named Casper- a chance at happiness in Durham, North Carolina. He is the joy of my life and I can't do any travel or life without him.
Now as for how this money will be used: I would be staying at an Extended Stay hotel which will be $80+ per day. I have SSI of $540 a month and $160 SNAP(food stamps) benefits. A portion of the funds will be used for travelling to Durham all the way from Andrews, South Carolina. Another $200 will be used to change my legal name. Dog food, and monthly grooming will also be covered via this fund.
While in Durham I'll look for work in whatever way I can. Currently thinking about dog walking as a business or becoming a vet tech. I want to be able to feed the homeless and help animals but I can't do that in my current environment.
This is my dog Casper that will be travelling with me.
