Help me be able to move to a safer apartment
Donation protected
I am looking to raise money to be able to move into an apartment that would be safer for me to live in with my physical limitations. I am disabled and the building I am trying to move out of is NOT a safe place for me. Due to frequent Injuries caused by the apartment I am trying to get moved out of I have not been able to maintain any sort of social life over the past 10 years outside of the internet and medical appointments and hospital stays and physically therapy... So I don't have in person social connections to ask for help at this point other than one friend who I normally see once , maybe twice a year most years who only has a very small car. I have a place lined up that I can move to but I would need to raise money to get help getting my belongings and furniture physically moved to the new apartment, since I do not have a vehicle and I will need to be able to pay for people to help with packing and moving if I dont want to end up with yet another injury. I have called local churches and charities and most of the church organizations told me They only help established contributing members of their church... And the few that didn't say that said they get calls for help moving all the time but can never find any volunteers willing to actually do the physical work of helping someone move... also if I cant get help soon enough some of the money would have to go towards covering rent for the second apartment for time till I raise enough money to actually be able to hire help to move or until I can find someone willing to help for cheaper , which so far I have not been able to find any people willing to help physically move stuff after weeks of searching . I also can't even just a random all my furniture since I NEED a bed to sleep on in the new place if I want my lower body to function well enough to even sit up in the morning, and I would get charged for disposal of any furniture left in the apartment, and if I owed money to a previous landlord I could also be disqualified and lose the lease to the safer apartment I am trying to move to. Also if I don't complete the move soon then I could actually potentially lose BOTH the place I am moving out of and the place I am supposed to be moving into, and being homeless would be very dangerous for me at this point as I have medications that have to be kept stored within strict temperature ranges that I rely on to live so i really do need to complete this move and not let it drag on and have the landlords get fed up.
The reason for this goal amount is this is basically what the cheapest moving company quoted ( it's this high because the building I amoving out of has very slow old elevators and the apartment I'm moving out of is on the 8th floor so there would be a lot of time spent even just waiting for the elevator with each arm load or large furniture item to move out of the building.)
