HELP ME OVERCOME PANCREATIC CANCER

Donation protected

Hi, my name is Reyna Arreguin. I am 13 years old and as of February 14, 2024, I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. This was a major obstacle, for not only my physical but also my mental health. Ever since I was a little girl, I had big dreams. I used to dream of being a famous singer or an artist. Now, as I am older, my goals are to make the world a better place. I've dedicated a lot of my time to studying law. I even have plans on attending Harvard. I am part of many advanced programs at my school and I'm even part of NJHS, (National Junior Honor Society). But as I sat in the Hospital bed and heard the news, my future, my world, shattered right before me. I had too much to lose, my family, friends, and people I cared about. But, they said they could prevent the tumor from growing through a surgery called the Whipple Procedure. They performed that procedure on February 19, 2024. And that's where my journey begins. I couldn't eat or drink water for a few days, this is because they had to rearrange my internal organs. Once I was able to eat, I was put on a Low Fat diet that restricted me from eating many foods I used to be able to eat. On February 28, 2024, I was discharged from the hospital. Coming home, I had to adjust to a normal life again. I couldn't go up the stairs, I couldn't carry anything over 10 pounds, and I couldn't make any sudden movements. I also had to catch up on the mountains of schoolwork I had missed. On March 11, 2024, I returned to school. But, this would soon lead to another problem as I experienced extreme abdominal pain and started to throw up constantly. I was admitted back to the hospital on March 12, 2024, where they had to see if anything was going wrong after the surgery. I was in an extreme amount of pain and I couldn't even lay down or walk right. On March 16, 2024, after they told us I would need to eat less. Now, I am still struggling to adapt to everyday life again. I have to catch up on my schoolwork and make sure I can still graduate. The worst part is that my father, who works to provide our source of income, had to take a lot of days off to stay with my four younger siblings while my mom stayed in the hospital with me. I am making this GoFundMe to help not only my journey to recovery but my family's journey too. Thank you for reading.
