Help Us Escape The Gaza War !

My name is Ihab Ismail, I am a 19 Year-old a medical student at Al-Azhar university from Northern Gaza in Palestine. I have a lovely family of 8 members: my parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Before the war I've completed the high school stage with an impressive distinction, securing a grade of 98.4%.

I excelled in general medical sciences during the the first year, achieving a cumulative average of 98.44% and securing the first position in my class.

my ambition is to contribute to the welfare of the community and the people of Gaza who endure the challenges of wars and calamities.

This is a picture that shows an interview for me and my parents after I finished my high school and achieved the second rank in Palestine.

Although our beautiful city was under siege, still we were so happy with our simple life. We used to enjoy sleeping in our warm beds rather than on the cold ground, like we do now. We used to wake up in the morning hearing birds singing, rather than rocket bombs. We used to go to our work, university or school. We miss having our normal routine so badly, walking through undamaged streets, meeting our friends, going back home after a long day, Dad checking in with us about our day, me and my siblings studying really hard to better our chances of doing well, excelling in our studies, and securing good jobs.

On 13th October, we were forced to be displaced to Khan-Unis to save our lives! We left everything behind, we held on to the hope of returning back to our home every single day. After 2 challenging months of living in displacement, we received the shocking news that our home was brutally bombed. All our memories, certificates, clothes, beds, EVERYTHING we had was burned down!

To make matters worse, we were forced again to be displaced from Khan-Unis -because of the invasion- to Rafah, the southernmost city of Gaza Strip that is neighbouring to Egypt. The suffer is not over yet! Threats of invasion of Rafah are increasing day by day, we are really afraid, the bombardment is all over us, my little 6 years old sister, Sarah, can't sleep out of fear, she cries most of the time. My parents are constantly afraid and are absolutely petrified something might happen to all of us. If Rafah gets invaded as we are threatened, we will not have a safe place to escape to, the stress and agony we live in is indescribable!

The real problem is that the price of travel through the Egyptian Hala company is very high. The cost for an adult person is $5,000 and a child costs $2,500. Cost of travel for my 8 members family is nearly $25,000.

We don't have much time. The invasion is getting closer day by day. Please help us evacuate to safety, save our lives and help us live a decent life again!
