Help me race offshore, Sydney to Hobart 2024
Donation protected
I am a 25-year-old British-born, now Australian resident, who has devoted my life to becoming a full-time professional offshore sailor and racer. I am currently based in Sydney, where I have spent much of the past 5 years living.
After sailing half way around the world, over the last two years, I am excited to be embarking on a solo Transatlantic Race campaign in a Mini Transat 6.50 boat. This race has existed since the 1970s and is over 4000 nautical miles, starting in France and ending in the Caribbean. It is a French race and there are relatively few international competitors, and even fewer women. There are no prizes and the Mini Transat is not necessarily even considered a race for the win. It is dangerous and extremely challenging and to even complete the race is is seen as a personal or national victory.
Why am I doing this ?
Sailing isn't just my career; it's my lifelong passion. It represents freedom, adventure, and a connection to nature that's deeply ingrained in who I am..... I want to dispel the myth that it's exclusive and reserved for the elite. Sailing is
diverse, teaching life skills, teamwork, and respect for the environment. I'm committed to showing the world how incredible sailing is and that with enough dedication, anyone can sail.
