Help me raise funds for Cheshire East Hospice

Running is certainly not my forte and most people will be shocked to know I’m taking part in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run (10K) on the 26th May 2024!

The charity I have chosen to fundraise for is Cheshire East Hospice. The hospice cares for people living with life-limiting illnesses. They put patients, carers and families at the centre of everything they do, and their expert medical treatment is only the start of the care they provide. At a time when family is so important, they also support carers and relatives with social and family services, counselling, complementary therapies and much more.

My Father in Law suffered a short battle with cancer and sadly passed away in 2022. The hospice helped provide him with care at home whilst also providing medical, social and emotional support to the family. I have seen first-hand some of the amazing work the hospice carry out.

The hospice also run a Motor Neurone Disease programme to help support people with the disease and their carers. I am aware of how MND can rapidly change peoples lives and how this can also have a huge impact on their families helping to provide care. The hospice help by offering emotional and practical support, the aim of the programme is to provide a safe, relaxed environment where people can share problems, concerns or experiences with others who are in a similar situation.

Due to the range of services they provide, the hospice requires £7,500 per day to keep the service running!
