Help me raise money for RECLAIM
On Sunday 26th May 2024, I will be running in the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run (10K) for charity.
The charity I will be raising funds for is called ‘RECLAIM’. RECLAIM is a Greater Manchester based, youth led organisation who exist to bring down barriers preventing those from a working-class background from achievement, success, or influence.
RECLAIM was set up in Moss Side in 2007 with the aim of ending the wasted potential in young people, who were often being written off due to their postcode, background and low expectations.
The charity is small but bold, and their long-term goal is to see working -class people be represented in the decisions being made about their lives in Britain and be recognised for their talent, strength and diversity.
RECLAIM have programmes which assist working-class people to interrogate and change the world around them. This is achieved through community projects, leadership and campaigning training and mentoring.
RECLAIM is a charity that I am truly passionate about, as we hear all too often of young people falling into a life of crime, violence and gangs as a result of the lack of opportunities they are presented with, simply for being from a less affluent area through no fault of their own. By reducing the traps that young people can fall into, we change their lives and the lives of the wider community.
Please see their website www.reclaim.org.uk for more information.
If you can please donate whatever you can and share this post to spread the word.
