Help me recover costs for stolen cargo trailer

Hi there!

My name is Nico, and I'm the owner of Nico's Ice Cream here in Portland, OR.

I sell New Zealand style, real fruit ice cream!

I first started Nico's Ice Cream earlier this year, in May next to Prost on N Mississippi Ave. with a little push cart.

I then quickly expanded, and moved into my first brick and mortar on NE Fremont just a few weeks ago!

Oddly enough, one of the biggest hurdles I had to go through with gearing up to open was finding, and buying a cargo trailer that was a specific size to fit my push cart, and the rest of my supplies. Before I began this search, I didn't know how hard it was going to be to find a cargo trailer that worked for me. Nor did I know how expensive they were. But, I searched, and searched, and searched. I looked online everywhere from Ashland, to Portland, to Seattle.

Finally, after weeks of searching, I found a cargo trailer for sale on the border of Idaho for $4,500. So, me and my buddy immediately drove 8 hours to Idaho, picked it up, drove it back to Portland that same day, and we were set! Just in time to open up my push cart in North Portland.

Unfortunately, a couple nights ago that same cargo trailer was stolen from the front of my house around 3am, and has not been found.

I have created this GoFundMe in the hopes that I can get some help from the amazing community that Nico's Ice Cream has already created in the short couple months we've been open. That help could be $1, $5, or just sending this link to a couple people you know :) As this is my first ever business, I have already invested all my money into getting this off the ground. Spending money to repurchase a trailer is not feasible, right now.

I have begun my search for a new trailer already, as I now know that it isn't an easy thing to find online right now, and who knows if I'll have to drive back to the Idaho area to buy one. I have also begun the search so I can get to a couple private events in February, and prepare to be back fully open this Spring in North Portland again.

I can't wait to continue to serve Portland a whole lot of real fruit ice cream!
