Help Keep Corky the Cat Kickin'!
Donation protected
Hello y'all. I'm so sorry the photo of Corky is so bad, but thank you for taking the time to consider donating. I have never asked publicly for money for anything, but the life of this animal is worth so much more to me than my pride.
On Sunday night, June 14th, our kitty Corky was attacked by an animal in the night. We rushed her to the emergency vet, and after a $600 visit, we were told that not only was she in a great deal of pain, but that she will need a leg amputation to survive.
Unfortunately, I am worried that I cannot afford this life-saving surgery. Doctors have estimated the cost at ~$1300 for a surgery that would need to occur this Friday, June 19th.
Corky was a stray who wandered into our yard about 5 years ago, but unlike many stray cats I've met, she is more trusting and loving than a dog (which if you know me, is hard for me to say!). Her genuine love for people comes even in the face of unspeakable previous trauma (the vet thinks that she had been abused, run over by a car, etc.)
I am admittedly NOT a 'cat person,' but Corky is just the type of animal that brings light into my life. She has never had an easy go of it, and I don't know how I could live with myself if I allow her to die solely because I can't afford treatment. Please consider helping me save Corky - an innocent, sweet baby who relies on me, but needs more than I can give her.
With everything going on in the world today, I understand that budgets are tight and that there are so many other, bigger causes that warrant donation, so while anything would help me to cut the cost, I understand it may not be feasible to support financially. Thoughts and *shares* are also greatly appreciated.
