A Mother's Plea: Save My Kids from Gaza War
Donation protected
Hello Dear Humanity,
I am Doaa Bkheet from Gaza a wife, and a mother of three children (Assem 7 years old, Lena 5 years old and Talia almost 2.5 years old). I have previously survived 5 fierce wars on Gaza. The latest was in 2021 when I was pregnant with my little girl Talia.

Here is our story - Before the events of October 7th, we lived in a home filled with love, memories, and beautiful moments with my husband's family, his father, and mother. After that date, life changed drastically, and the future became uncertain. Those memories were shattered, and those moments destroyed, leaving everything dark and mysterious with no future, no horizon, and no life for our children.
In this war, we have lived and continue to live through difficult and bitter times. There are no hospitals, no clean drinking water, no healthy food, and no safe shelter. Instead of living in our homes safely, we now reside in makeshift tents after fleeing from the northern Gaza Strip to the south, to the city of Rafah. Our lives have been turned upside down. My innocent children suffer from various illnesses, and we endure tough moments with no available treatment or fully functioning hospitals.
Our lives have become a tumultuous storm, raging with uncertainty and fear. We are adrift in a sea of despair, with no lighthouse to guide us through the darkness. Each passing day brings new challenges, like thunderclaps echoing in the distance, reminding us of the constant threat that looms overhead. Yet, amidst the tempest, we cling to hope like a sailor grasping for a lifebuoy in the midst of a turbulent sea, praying for calmer waters and brighter skies.
In this picture, my children, Assem and Lena, are depicted. Assem is now in first grade and showed great promise in his preschool years. He had a passion for writing, learning, drawing, and coloring. Assem had only been in school for a month when the war erupted, depriving him of education and knowledge. During the war, Assem's school was destroyed by airstrikes, leaving nothing behind, robbing him of the opportunity to learn.
This innocent image portrays the cruel reality of war, where the aspirations of young minds are shattered and the pursuit of knowledge is abruptly halted. It's a heart-wrenching reminder of the devastating impact conflict has on innocent lives and their hopes for a brighter future.
This is my beautiful daughter, Lena, with her wonderful spirit. Her dream was to go to kindergarten to draw and colour. She adored drawing and coloring. Now, her dreams are to end the war, waking up every day to the sounds of bombing, destruction, and terror. There's no future or life for my children in Gaza now.
Here are some pictures that summarize the aspirations of my little ones. Assem wanted to become an engineer someday, and his sister Lena, who shared his small dream moments buried under the rubble of war.
When I look at these images, memories of my children's innocent dreams flood my mind, only to be confronted by the harsh reality we endure today. It fills me with a deep sense of disappointment and hopelessness.
My sweet children love learning, cherish life in safety, enjoy playing and having fun. They crave security and peace just like any other children around the world.
In the midst of this turmoil, I think of my dear father-in-law, who is advanced in age and suffers from Alzheimer's disease. Sadly, the treatment he desperately needs is unavailable in Gaza due to the ongoing conflict. Additionally, he struggles with a vision impairment, his eyes clouded by cataracts. We arranged for surgery to address this issue, but the relentless war prevented him from completing the treatment. He urgently requires travel to access the care he needs and to undergo surgery for his other eye.
We urgently need to break free from the ravages of war to resume our lives in safety, for the sake of our children's education, the treatment of my father-in-law, and to seek stability like any other people on earth. Let us all be part of realizing this dream we strive for.
