Help me save my life and pursue my education

I, Ali Tawil, am a Palestinian doctor from Gaza Strip. I write this as the need to save my life and to continue my education outweigh my ability to endure.

I am a dedicated resident physician who is working at Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir El-Balah, the middle area of Gaza Strip. Since October 7th, the situation in Gaza has been deteriorating and the conflict is escalating. Despite that, I have been tirelessly working a 24-hour every other day in various departments including ER, ICCU, and ICU, dealing with different kinds of patients, grappling with the challenges of a limited medical staff and the hazards of returning home.

After eight months of this war, I neither have a soure of income nor savings any more. I have been working without a salary for the whole period due to this disaster. Taking into consideration that I am the only person who is responsible to afford my family's living expenses. On top of that, life has become really expensive and the prices have been getting raised in a crazy way. That's because of the actual shortage of the basic goods which make everything's price double folded.

During this war, my family's house was partially demolished by an airstrike a few months ago. Afterthat, we have enforced to leave our home to a small room in my uncle's house which was already full of displaced people. We were standing in a waiting line for bathroom, for getting bread, for filling a gallon of purified drinking water, for receiving a food parcel, for cellphone charging, and for everything you could have imagined. Our life has completely turned upside down in a blink of an eye since october 7th.

Choosing to leave is a very painful decision to make, but the situation has become unbearable. It's been eight months since the beginning of this nightmare, but it seems like eight decades. Beside the ongoing bombings, we're also facing psychological pain, fear, hunger, dehydration, displacement, and spreading of illnesses.

Now, there is NO SAFE place in Gaza strip, even hospitals are not safe anymore. Every place and every person is an actual target to be targeted with the continuous bombing on Gaza. Staying here is really dangerous even if it's for a noble purpose which is saving the people's lives. So I have come to a point where I’m desperate, and humbly ask you to help us getting out of Gaza to save our lives and pursue my career in medicine.

Evacuation fees are really expensive, especially now that I have no source of income. Your donation will help me to re-establish my life here with my family till we can evacuate. Once we can evacuate, your donations will cover our travel expenses, residency fees, food and beverage expenses, emergency expenses including medical care, and international medical exams that I will do during our stay in Egypt to pursue my career.
