FIP Cat in Need: Help Save Orion
Donation protected
My darling kitten Orion is responding incredibly well to an experimental treatment for an otherwise fatal disease—but we can’t afford to continue without your help. Please read on to learn more about my special cat and the medicine that’s saving him!
When my cheeky, playful young kitty Orion started coughing and acting lethargic, I knew something wasn’t right. But nothing could’ve prepared me for this diagnosis: In October 2021, I learned that Orion had contracted Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) at just nine months old.
Until recently, this diagnosis was a death sentence. But with the help of an experimental treatment studied extensively by scientists at UC Davis and elsewhere, Orion has hope.
After over two months of daily at-home injections, the treatment is working wonders. Orion has started playing with his big sister Cleo again, his swollen belly has receded, and his cough is totally gone. Orion is a fighter, and he will beat this disease if we complete the full 12-week treatment. But with an estimated cost of $6700 (see below), I can’t save him on my own.
Orion is a special cat. I adore him. He completes our little family as my everyday companion and Cleo’s beloved little brother. I want to do everything I can to save him. Please help me keep him alive.
