Help me stay with Micah in the hospital
I’m so embarrassed to be asking for help. I wish my savings account was better prepared for this. My husband and I have been putting every extra penny to pay down debt the last 14 months, so our savings is tiny at the moment.
My son Micah was hospitalized for a life threatening volvulus, which is a twisted colon, on February 13th, 2021. After the surgery to remove the majority of his colon, he became infected with a life threatening blood infection. Micah was hospitalized for 27 days total, and we were grateful to bring him home March 11th.
March 14th, Micah developed a SECOND bowel obstruction, and he is hospitalized again. Unfortunately, I have completely exhausted all of my vacation hours for job after the first 27-day hospitalization. I applied for FMLA, but sadly my employer does not offer PAID time off for FMLA or family emergencies. All time away from my job at this point is unpaid.
This means that I have to go back to work and leave Micah’s bedside while he’s in the hospital. It is my preference to stay with him, not go to work. If I do leave briefly, I would like to just go home for a shower, change of clothes, and get a quick moment of quality time with my daughter. This mother’s heart wants to just focus on her family right now during this crisis and not being juggling a work schedule because the paycheck is so needed.
While we are in the hospital, the parking fees are tremendous. I’ve already spent more than $400 on just parking fees for the first 27 days of hospitalization.
All money raised will go towards bills so that I can take time off work to be with Micah or Madison.
My even bigger wish is for your PRAYERS, so this message is also to recruit the prayers that Micah needs to be healed and come home quickly.
