Help Me Stop our Deportation

Sara Escarraga, a devoted single mother, has faced immense challenges since her arrival in 2017. Her family’s refugee claim was rejected on a technicality in 2018 and Immigration Canada misplaced her humanitarian and compassionate application. Despite this, Sara has remained resilient and dedicated to building a better life for her family.
Sara tirelessly cares for her four children, all of whom have grown up in Canada and consider it their home. She has worked diligently to provide for them while simultaneously navigating the complex process of regularizing her immigration status. Throughout this journey, Sara has demonstrated unwavering commitment to her family's well-being and has actively contributed to her community.
Notably, Sara is a deeply engaged community member, known for her generosity and compassion. She has been an invaluable support to her neighbors and actively participates in various faith and community organizations. She is also a part of a Co-Ed junior hockey league and her home is a place that anyone looking for support in Niagara can turn to. She exemplifies the very best of the values of inclusivity and solidarity.
Her children, Andre, Luca, Federico, and Alexandra, grew up in Canada and Niagara is the only home they know. They are active in their school communities and local team sports.
Andre is 15 years old and plays for a travelling soccer team in Niagara Falls. He does community service, helping grad students and teachers coordinate events. He also takes part in the health fairs for migrant farm workers in Pelham and Niagara-on-the-Lake. Andre is a role model for his younger siblings and looks forward to representing Canada as a professional soccer player.
Luca is nearly 11 years old and makes friends everywhere he goes. He recently made it to the regional competition level in track and field and he also plays minor hockey. Luca does volunteer hours with his current school as a meal champion, serving food in the school food program. He is outspoken, always standing up for others.
Federico is 10 years old and a science and lego lover. Logical but loving, he is a storyteller and takes hockey very seriously. He is fluent in French and attends a local French immersion elementary school.
Alexandra is 9 years old and loves fashion and hockey. She plays friendly matches with her older brothers. She is also fluent in French and attends the same school as Federico.
Sara Escarraga and her family deserve the opportunity to remain in Canada permanently. Granting them permanent resident status would not only recognize their longstanding ties to the country but also uphold Canada's commitment to compassion and fairness. It would ensure that Sara and her children can continue to thrive, contribute, and call Canada their home.
Sara and her family are unique, but their situation is faced by many others. The federal government has promised regularization of all undocumented people, and we call on you to implement this promise and ensure permanent resident status for all. Families like Sara’s who would be regularized tomorrow should not be deported today.
