Support me to complete my studies in the UK

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alidou Balima. I am 25 years old and since the 31st of October I no longer have sponsorship from my father (Kibsa Balima) because he unfortunately passed away in a car crash in Ghana.

Since then, I have been paying my tuition fee of £16,000 independently despite studying mechanical engineering at Nottingham Trent University. This has severely impacted my ability to perform well in my studies as there have been moments whereby I have not only been threatened with termination of my student visa which would consequently lead to deportation but I have also been threatened by my landlords for not paying my rent timely despite having little to no money in my account.

Due to the cost of living crisis and the lack of job availability for international students, there have been days where I have been forced to survive off 50p a day. Despite it all I have still managed to excel in my studies and have recently scored an exceptional grade in my Control Systems module.

I have tried my best to raise as much as I can for my tuition fee by taking up part-time work during term time and full-time work during the holidays but unfortunately, this has not been enough to cover the expenses whatsoever as there is a lack of jobs available for international students nowadays.

My situation has forced me to turn to food banks and other close relatives of mine who have been trying to support me during this difficult time however, it has not been enough to cover even half of my tuition fees.

Moreover, I have consistently tried securing a placement to try and alleviate my financial suffering but unfortunately, this has proven to be unsuccessful despite my academic achievements.

Due to the nature of my student visa I am not allowed to work above 20 hours a week otherwise I will be facing the consequences of deportation as stated by the Home Office (see below).

I call upon the UK's immigration offices to allow me to work full time in order to fulfil my tuition fees as my dad's death has quite frankly been beyond my control. I have nothing in terms of inheritance and therefore am living below the poverty line to survive on a day to day basis.

I would appreciate it if you could please spread the word and donate whatever you can to support my cause as I am very passionate about mechanical engineering and it would be my dream to continue my course in the UK.

Thus far, I have spent above £30,000+ in the UK and would hate for it to go to waste so please donate whatever you can whether big or small.

As stated in the Qu'ran:

"And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveller, and do not spend wastefully. That is better for those who desire the countenance of Allah. And it is they who will be the successful."
