Help me to spend Christmas with my family!

Hi, my names Hayleigh and in November 2021 I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (RRMS). After I had the relapse that got me my diagnosis, I had been quite lucky with my MS and was relatively healthy and able to do most things still!

Unfortunately, this all changed back in May this year… I gave birth to my son Kairo who himself is an absolute miracle and we are so lucky to still have here with us. The stress that the birth put on my body and then the stress of Kairo being so poorly and spending his first 3 weeks of life in hospital caused me to have a severe relapse with my MS.

Since the birth of my son, I have been bed bound, unable to walk, unable to really do anything for myself and I’ve missed out on so much time with my children. Kairo has just turned 6 months old and I am still unable to really hold him as I’m just too weak. I’m unable to play and do things with Kiara and anyone who knows me knows my children are my world. They’re the reason I still fight every day. So not being able to do things with them, missing out on so much of there lives and never being able to be with them as I’m bed bound absolutely breaks me every single day and has had a massive impact on my mental health.

A few weeks ago now, I had yet another MS relapse confirmed, this one leaving me even worse. Unfortunately I have more new lesions on my brain and spine and they have massively affected my balance. Leaving me unable to really sit up as I just have the constant feeling of tipping to one side or like I’m being pulled forwards/backwards. I can only really sit up if I have something behind me to support my back and make me feel more ‘safe’.

Due to this and the fact that my mental health is taking a massive hit, we are now looking at getting me a recliner chair which enables to me sit up with support but also lay back when needed, and it also has heat and massage function which will be a massive help for me and my pain that I live with every single day. The chair is going to be downstairs so that I can at least be in the same room as my babies and be able to spend more time with them. The money that you donate will be going to the recliner chair and will be enabling me to spend more time with my family!

All I want is to be able to spend Christmas with my children and family. It may sound so simple to other people and something that so many people wouldn’t even think twice about, but to me this is absolutely everything!!
