Help me transfer my embryos out of Alabama
Donation protected
I knew IVF was the only way I was going to have a baby on my own. My first round of IVF was last January at UAB. My levels were not watched closely enough, and they cancelled the cycle without me even making it to egg retrieval. It was devastating.
My second round of IVF was last July, at a clinic elsewhere in Birmingham. It was very successful. I have six healthy frozen embryos, of the top grade.
I have six healthy frozen embryos, of the top grade, in the state of Alabama.
Now, IVF is shutting down in Alabama. Clinics and hospitals are closing. Mine hasn’t closed yet, but I know it will likely happen sooner rather than later.
I have to get my embryos out of Alabama to a protected state. We are thinking California, as that is where Kandis is from and she has people and resources.
I just requested shipping quotes from two embryo shipping services. I want and need them out of Alabama immediately. Based on the cost to ship one vial of sperm to me in December 2022, I’m worried to get these quotes back - especially if I need them in CA ASAP.
I’m still trying to wrap my head around it all.
Update: we now have an additional $200 from the clinic in Birmingham to release them.
Thank you, so much, if you're willing to help.
