Help Me Travel to Study C.S. Lewis
Donation protected
Upon my graduation in the Spring of 2023, I will have the opportunity to take an educational trip with my school to Oxford, England. C.S. Lewis, his life, and his work are the subject of the expedition.
In the early stages of The Belfast Podcast, we started as a study of C.S. Lewis, as there has been no one who has had more influenced my theological thinking. While life has taken things in different directions over the past few years, one current goal is to work towards a long series on the works of Lewis as Daniel and I continue to grow the podcast. For those who have been and will be following our more recent work, you know that he has come alongside our Gospel Series, influencing some of our basic assumptions regarding our interaction with the world. The future will bring only more direct contact with Lewis and his thinking. A long-term goal of the podcast is to become one of the leading online voices concerning Lewis’s theology, and this trip will aid in informing all my studies of him to come.
Details of the trip are as follows:
9 days in England. 7 days in Oxford, 2 days in London
Visits to Lewis’s home, school, and church
Special lectures by noted Lewis scholars
Time to explore the city as well as visit Oxford and its surroundings, including the Bodleian Library, the Eagle and Child, Blackwells Books, and Holywell cemetery, among many other places that influenced Lewis’s life and works.
As a master’s student, extra money is hard to come by and I would appreciate any help in funding the trip you can give. The full cost of the trip is $3,400.
