Help me with my fight against ALS.

Hello, my name is Brad, and I was diagnosed with ALS in February of 2021. ALS is short for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a weakening and eventual loss of complete muscle movement and death. The average life expectancy after diagnosis is 2-5 years. I was able to walk with the assistance of a cane up until about two months ago. I can still walk very short distances with help, and my left arm is useless the muscles in my left arm are weakened to the point of total uselessness.

I had a test scheduled last week and I went to get in our truck and missed, my wife had to lower me to the ground and we had to call 911 to get me up. I can't even get into our truck to go anywhere with my wife anymore. Not to the store, the doctor or to visit anyone any longer.

I am trying to raise money for a mobility van and other medical equipment we will need in my fight with ALS. Also to pay medical bills, as I lost my insurance and had to quit my job. Being disabled at 54 is a shock to everyone that I know. Also, a rough pill to swallow for me. I used to bicycle all the time, I love the outdoors, the beach and swimming. I had to sell my bicycles and trade them for a power chair very sad for sure. it is hard to get dressed alone, and I can't put on socks my wife has to help me.

Opening a bottle of water or a zip-lock bag is nearly impossible. I can't use a knife anymore safely and I love to cook, I can't do it safely any longer and my wife has to prepare all the meals.

With my recent falls, ALS is getting one over on me, not winning the battle but for sure putting a damper on my day.

Please help with any amount you can.
