Help Medea Heal and Return Home to her Family

Hello, friends! Friends of Medea and Sir Pretzel are here to tell you a little about one of our all time favorite people. Once you know a little, we’re hoping you’ll be willing to donate and/or share this Go Fund Me to help this amazing lady.

The Who:

Medea is a nurse practioner in Seattle, WA who shares a diagnosis with many of her patient, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). It’s a genetic condition that can make your life VERY ouchy (want to know more? Check out this Ehlers Danlos Website). Medea cannot stand seeing anyone in pain, so she opened a wicked cool clinic that focuses on making people feel better. She has a wonderful husband who retired from being an eletrician and the most gorgeous greyhound named Sir Pretzel. He’s the real star of the show, obviously.

The What:

Acute necrotizing pacreatitis. Medea was in the ICU for a week with multi-organ failure, then was hospitlized for over THREE MONTHS. She’s currently in a skilled nursing facility learning how to walk and eat again. Her doctors predict another 9 months of recovery once she gets home. Her amazing Clinic had to shutter while she's sick and a lot of people are without help.

The Why:

Her super amazing husband, Tony, has come out of retirement and taken jobs as he can find them. Her Mom flew in from Greece to help out with her care. But it’s not enough to cover the expenses that are building up. Thankfully, she has health insurance which has covered her medical bills, but the other bills are what are causing the problem of housing, ability to go home and ability to stay home safely.

Ambulance copays: $750

Electric wheelchair: $3,000

Home health copays: $500

Medicine: $400

Rent/bills/etc: $6000

Plane fare for Medea’s mother: $3000

Treats for Sir Pretzel: $Eleventy Billion
