Help Medusa Get the Vet Care She Desperately Needs!
Donation protected
My name is Claire and this is my cat Medusa and she is 14 years old.
Back in April I started to notice she had lost some weight and started to drool but very little. I took her to the vet in May when I started to notice it more. They had told me it could be allergies and that she lost weight but it was a normal amount that she fluctuate between. They went to do blood work and they said nothing was too concerning other than her white blood cell count was low. They told me it could have been because she was stressed about them getting her blood drawn and being at the vet. They told me that most likely it will go away she probably just has a bit of allergies especially since she hasn’t lost her appetite and was willing to eat and drink water. They also checked her mouth and told me her teeth were nothing to be concerned about.. the vet bill was $532 that I am still making payments on.
Fast forward to now (July) I have noticed she has gotten worse. She dropped a noticeable amount of weight and hasn’t been able to eat her dry food even though she tries, so I switched her over to wet food completely. She has been struggling to eat but she wants to eat and is willing to but I know it is uncomfortable for her. She is drooling excessively. I have to constantly be wiping her mouth. She also hasn’t been able to grooming herself.. I can just tell by looking at her that something is definitely wrong...
I'm hoping this reaches anyone who is willing to help Medusa, any amount would be so amazing and I thank you for wanting to help. She means the absolute world to me and we have been through it all together. I’ve had her since I was 16 years old and got her when she was just a kitten. With the ways things are right now it has just been really hard to be able to afford vet bills and I’m still paying off her last vet visit which nothing was really done. It breaks my heart to see her the way she is. I can tell she is hurting and I just want her to get better. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any donations + shares.

UPDATE 07/15/24: We were able to take her to the vet, they weighed her and she has lost 4 pounds, she now weighs 6 pounds. They checked her mouth and told us she has a mass in the back of her tongue and they didn't see it before since it wasn't as big as it is now.. They are going to do a biopsy to see if it is cancerous or benign. They also took blood and urine samples again and gave her a shot for pain and some pain medication that we will be giving her daily. She has her biopsy scheduled for this coming Thursday 07/18/24 and we will go from there. We are looking at $2000 in vet bills at the moment. Anything helps and thank you to everyone who has donated and shared. ♡ Please keep sharing if you can.
