PLEASE READ first are a couple pics and then whats happened and whats currently happening.

On January 21st, 2024, My best friend's world seemed to be brought to a halt. Meg Sylvester's fiance Doug had a accident at work resulting in a traumatic brain injury. He was in a coma from January 21st-January 23rd is when he finally opened both of his eyes. Then he stayed in Methodist Hospital for awhile while he slowly started to pull through while Meg was up at the hospital not wanting to leave she knew she wanted to be able to make his medical decisions but she and Doug had yet to be married. They have a 15 yr. Old daughter and have been together for at least 17 years or more well while she wouldn't want to leave Doug his mom got guardianship over him leaving Meg with no say in regard to anything. He was able to leave for rehab in Chicago on 2/17/2024 where he has made a little progress in rehabilitation because when you heal from a tbi there is no time frame on the recovery. He was sent back to Methodist on 4/30/2024 where they would be doing what was called a cranioplasty which is where the replace or put back his bone flap. When they do that it helps tbi patients rehab better. Shortly after this surgery he was moved to a rehabilitation center in Indiana called RHI. Unfortunately during all of this his mother and her lawyer decided that anything she was getting from his checks from workers compensation would not go to help his family, besides to pay half the rent as that has to be done. I know this family very well and Doug has been a very good dad to their daughter and has always taking care of her. He would want to make sure that his daughter and the love of his life had what they needed. That's basically all he's been around completely for along time. His family is really struggling to pay their everyday bills. Meg is working but her doctor is worried because of the stress that something might happen so has gotten fmla (family medical leave act) I'm setting up this page and donating everything to her and her daughter. So on 5/13/2024 he moved to RHI in Indiana for therapy until 6/17/2024, but on this day instead of being released into the care of Meg and their daughter he was released into his mother's house where she had already prepped for his medical accommodations. Then just recently his mom decided Meg was not allowed to see him and that was on 6/25/2024. So Meg is really struggling and doesn't have a car to get to work as of recently due to his mom taking it from her and their child. I'm not sure why she would do all this but this is not about her. It is about getting Doug back home to his family and Meg has been doing her best to keep the life they built for him to come home to. However with what his mom is doing she is starting to lose everything. I really wanted to help and besides praying and asking others to do so, this is all I can really do. If anything it doesn't matter if it 5$ to 20$ here and there it will add up and help this family. So if you can help please do. Thank you and God bless. Also, please do not tag Doug in this post as it has been removed once due to we believe a certain someone seeing and reporting it.
