Help Meg Move into a New Home
Donation protected
Hello!
Many of you know Meg, and many of you don’t. Today I’m reaching across both aisles, because she is in serious need of immediate help.
As of July 1st, Meg and her daughter no longer have a home!
Awhile back Meg’s longtime friend and landlord asked her to leave the home that she has lived in for many years. He stated that he needed to collect more money for rent, which is perfectly reasonable. However, instead of negotiating and giving Meg the opportunity to pay more, he had already rented Meg’s home to other friends. They are slated to move in on August 1st
This is the part where we all collectively boo him
To make matters worse, Meg was laid off from her job shortly after. This came as a massive blow and has left her mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially exhausted.
All during an unprecedented housing crisis in the Syracuse area.
Since then, she’s been faced with many obstacles and dead ends. But she’s continued to push forward, and on top of combing apartment listings and following every single lead possible, Meg has been making some incredible power moves to find a new home for herself, her daughter Eloise, their Daschaund/Corgi Mille, and their two cats Brownie and Doug (pets are family too!!)
✅ She’s been working hard with her new career at BDS and slowly regaining financial stability.
✅ She’s Been working with a state appointed housing specialist to follow every lead possible.
✅ She’s been put on a lottery selected waiting list for housing assistance (which sadly won’t come in time).
✅ She’s been working with a financial advisor, who helped facilitate a small loan to pay off existing debt and raise Meg’s credit score.
And after many months of work and worry, her hard work has finally begun to pay off. Her Credit score raised enough for her to qualify for conditional financing to buy a specific manufactured home
APPLAUSE APPLAUSE
BUT…….. She still needs to come up with a 10% down payment along with an appraisal fee
So far she’s been able to save and raise close to half of the down payment. With less than two weeks until she loses her home, she still needs to raise close to $3,500 in order to move her family into this new home.
Time is almost up, and she currently has no home⏳
If you’ve made it this far, ✨thank you for reading✨
