Half marathon for Clic Sargent
As a lot of you know at the age of 21 I was diagnosed with leukaemia and faced 2 and a half years of chemo treatment.
This year in May, I will be 3 years cancer free and to this day I can’t quite believe we got through it. With the help of some amazing charities it made mine and my families journey a little easier. Clic helped immensely and I will forever be grateful , not only did I have the support from one of their colleagues who visited the ward, after my treatment they continued to help.
I applied for one of the gold grants they offer , which supports young adults after a cancer diagnosis find their way again. I went to London and gave a presentation on my dream of becoming a tattooist , they believed in me and gave me the gold grant which allowed me to purchase all the stock I needed to start my career. Without them I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have now been tattooing for almost 3 years. The work they do is absolutely amazing , at a time where very little brings you any sense of hope and a future, they are there with open arms ready to help.
I feel now is my time to give back so I will be trying to run the half marathon haha, I would love to raise enough money to go towards a grant award for someone else ,No one any age should have to go through this and it pains me to see it happen to so many, but if I can make one persons journey slightly better It’ll be completely worth it.
Thank you everyone for donating I appreciate it so much. Here’s to 3 years (almost) cancer free and a BIG F**K YOU CANCER
