Help Meg & Hendo Personal Training After Hurricane Helene

Donation protected
Hi everyone,

My name is Elysia, and I'm Meg Yvonne's twin sister. Meg is the owner of Hendersonville Personal Training, a beloved small business in the Hendersonville and WNC community. As many of you may know, the Hendersonville and Asheville areas (among many others) have been devastated by Hurricane Helene, along with previous heavy rainstorms. The community has faced catastrophic flooding, with Hendersonville seeing nearly 30 inches of rain. Power, water, and cell service are down across much of the area, and getting access to essentials like gas and water is nearly impossible.

Meg evacuated her gym on Friday, September 27th, just ahead of the worst of the flooding. Unfortunately, on Saturday, September 28th, she received word that her gym had been severely affected. When she returned to Hendersonville, she found that floodwaters had risen halfway up the walls, causing extensive damage throughout her facility. Almost everything was destroyed—workout equipment, office furniture, flooring, and more.

Meg is an incredible person, and her gym has been a labor of love and very hard work. She started from scratch in 2016, offering personal training in Charleston, SC, before moving to Hendersonville and starting her training there. She opened a a small studio beginning of this year, and just a few months ago opened her full-sized facility in Hendersonville. She works tirelessly to bring health, fitness, and community to everyone she touches. This kind of historic flooding is something no one can prepare for, and now Meg finds herself faced with rebuilding what she worked so hard to create.

Anyone who knows Meg knows that she would never ask for help herself, so I’m doing it for her. I'm starting this GoFundMe to support her as she replaces her equipment, rebuilds her gym, and recovers from this unimaginable loss. As a small business owner, her income has been completely halted during this time, making it even more challenging.

The funds raised will be used to fill insurance gaps, help with recovery efforts and provide financial support during this period without income.

Meg has always shown up for her community, her clients, and her friends. If you've ever had the pleasure of working with Meg, if you know her heart and dedication, or if you simply want to help a young, passionate small business owner rebuild, please consider donating. Any amount helps, and every bit of support means the world to Meg and all of us who care about her.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping a truly special person during her time of need.
