Help Megan and Carly through this challenging time

“My mom, Megan Roese, was a fun-loving, kind, and beyond strong lady who has always been a source of light and joy to those around her. She's the first to lend a hand, share a laugh, or brighten someone's day with a silly song or giving support in any way she could. She was truly one of a kind, anyone who knows her would agree… simply the best!

On August 17th our lives changed when she developed a severe cough she couldn’t get rid of, which lead to more and more symptoms. After several trips to the doctor and emergency room (in August / September) she was still getting worse and worse with no clear diagnosis. Then over 3 different stays at the hospital from September - November totaling in 48 days she passed.

She was misdiagnosed 4x but at the end of October we found out she had stage 4 cancer. We were unable to ever determine the exact type as she was never strong enough (& there were insurance issues…) to do a scope or have a PET scan done but the doctors determined it was an “upper GI” cancer so that’s how she was treated. My mom struggled with blood clots, continued malignant fluid filling her lungs which caused her severe breathing issues, extreme loss of strength / appetite and still had the cough that eventually took her completely voice away.

My mom fought so hard for me to get through this. We were so praying that after this 3rd hospital stay we would be able to go home but we brought her home in a different way… she got to go to the greatest home : heaven. My mom is and will always be my best friend. Her last few days on this earth I talked to her a lot (more than usual!) but she couldn’t really talk back however she was able to say “I love you” 2x and I will never forget that moment.

My mom and I were encouraged throughout this whole journey by all the kind words & prayers that were said for her & I. We are so incredibly appreciative of every single one, God heard them all. Even though we didn’t get the restored health that we were praying for on earth, she ultimately got it in heaven with Him and I feel comforted in that. She is & always will be my peanut, best friend, brightest light, most amazing mom in the world. I have the best angel possible to get me through life until I see her again in eternity. “
