Help Megan & Billy Restore Their Lives

Hi, my name is Monica Harmon- a representative of Greenbriar Hills neighborhood, and I am fundraising for Billy and Megan Gotschall.

On the morning of April 30, 2024 at approximately 4:00 am, a fire started in the garage of Megan and Billy’s rental home on Harbor Drive. A neighbor, Brian Worstell, that lives behind their home woke early that morning and realized that the house was on fire. He then called the fire department, and they were dispatched quickly to Megan and Billy’s home. Police were able to wake Billy and get him out of the house before he was injured. Both of their cats, Saturn and Sawyer, were also rescued and were not harmed by the flames.

Unfortunately, their house was determined to be a total loss, and a majority of the house’s contents was destroyed by fire or by smoke. Megan and Billy are renting the home from Megan’s parents- and their renters insurance will not cover much of what was lost in the fire. A very large portion will likely go uncovered, with the responsibility falling upon them to clean, restore, or replace things. Currently, Megan and Billy are living with friends that have offered to support them while they are displaced from home. Fire fighters and insurance agents have estimated that they will not be able to return to the home for at least 8-12 months- as the entire home will need to be renovated to be made livable again.

Megan and Billy have lived on Harbor for the past 7 years. They’ve made the house their home, as they intend to purchase the home from Megan’s parents some day in the future. Billy is currently attending Chiropractic school at Logan University in Missouri, and Megan works for Cambridge Mill Products in Malvern. Megan has been supporting Billy in his aspirations to become a Chiropractor in the next 2.5 years.
