MEGHAN'S DIAGNOSIS OF NON HODGKINS LYMPHOMA

Hello everyone its Meghan. As some of you know I was diagnosed with SLE LUPUS in 2013 after a long difficult diagnosis. I  have been fighting for almost 10yrs, many drs/specialists al

ong the way. In the last 3 yrs my health issues began to rapidly decline. Unfortunately Lupus has been attacking my major organs, causing Kidney damage an Cardiac Issues with severe reoccurring infections. Im so grateful to have great specialist in my care who have been amazing alongside the support of my family. With that being said, it has come at a huge fee. I don't have benefits, funding for some treatments are partly covered. However medical costs are not covered by OHIP like many people are not aware of. My family and I have gone through savings, many specialist trying to get funding for treatment plans, prescription costs. It has been extremely difficult to process. Recently I

have been diagnosed with non Hodgkin lymphoma. It has been extremely overwhelming for our family to accept. Horribly feeling, where you have no idea where the funds are going to come from to get the best treatment plan for me. With already having a compromised immune system, chemotherapy to wipe it out dosent seem to be an option. With doing so, a common cold it will kill me. I can't be vaccinated against COVID 19 Or a flu shot, as there are still no studies done on the type of autoimmune disease I have. We as a family have had no choice but to self isolate an not have mamy visitors for the last few years. It has not only been difficult for me, but on my entire circle of loved ones. We have been very private about my health issues I've been fighting against for some time. Some of you close to us have been on this rollercoaster ride with our family for the ups and downs of my health issues. I am so thankful for your support. It absolutely humbles me to have to be so vulnerable to ask for your support. But unfortunately my choices are limited as well as out of my control. I am a mother of 2 boys, daughter, a sister. Im thankful that my mother who is my best friend has been my rock. She has been my  person, been by myside always holding my hand. She puts everything into  perspective when I can't. Wipping my tears, an being the best mother I could ever ask for!  No mother should have to go through the many, many specialist appts she has with me. But still finds the way to always find the positivity when we needed it. She is an amazing woman who puts her own grieving aside for her daughter and family. Its been a really rough couple yrs for everyone. But no matter what, she has taught us to always put  family first.  She grevies privately so she can be #1 for her children, grandchildren, family and friends whenever they need her! I'm so blessed to have the family support I do, and without them I don't know where I would be...
