Help Mel Transition
Donation protected
I type this at 4am, once again awoken by the slow inferno of chronic pain.
I face an impossible choice: Take t-blockers to ease my dysphoria and let the pain ravage the fibres that hold me together. Or skip the blockers to ease my pain and let the dysphoria crawl over me, turning me into something unlike myself.
I have been in stasis too long, swimming against the current of my body. It hurts to move. It hurts to be still.
The way out? I need surgery.
But the NHS has chewed me out and spat me out more times than I can count. I tire of licking my wounds: trauma, a decade-long wait, and a cookie-cutter approach to intersex bodies that chills me to the bone.
I am Mel, an autistic trans woman with barely enough income to survive. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. I have been forced to self-fund SRS by factors beyond my control.
Please help me. I don't want to feel like this anymore.
I am desperate. If you are able to help without hurting yourself, please drop some money in my virtual hat.
Whether you donate or not - share this fundraiser around. It helps!
I get closer to 30 every day and the older I get, the riskier surgery would be.
Please help out now so I don't have to give up hope.
Where does the money go?
All donations will be held by Hannah Watson until the fundraiser reaches its goal. The £7000 being raised goes toward:
- Pre-surgical consultations
- Flights & accomodation
- Surgery & hospital fees
