Help Melanie After Tornado Devastation
Donation protected
My name is Nicole Newell, and I’ve had the privilege of being a longtime friend of Melanie Blake. While many of us were sitting down to enjoy dinner on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024, Melanie was facing what she thought might be her last day on earth. In Fort Pierce, Florida, as a tornado tore through her home, Melanie's quick thinking and decision to seek shelter in the corner of her closet saved her life.
She watched in horror as the tornado ripped her home apart, piece by piece. After the storm passed, Melanie managed to crawl out from the wreckage just as the rest of her house collapsed. Despite the devastation, she was able to get her father, her bunny, and one of her cats to safety, where they waited out the remainder of Hurricane Milton.
Now, Melanie is left with nothing. Her home, her car, and almost all of her possessions have been destroyed. For those who know Melanie, you know she’s always the first to lend a hand, always willing to give the shirt off her back to help others in need. Now, she needs our help.
She has no car, no home, and only a few belongings she was able to recover from the debris. Please consider donating to help Mel as she begins to rebuild her life after this unimaginable loss. Every contribution will go directly to her, helping her piece her life back together and recover what she has lost. All donations will go to Melanie for food, housing and essential needs. Anything helps.
