Help Melanie's Food Truck Dream Roll Out

Greetings!!! My name is Melanie. I am the owner of Belly Full Of Soul L.L.C, a small black-owned business I started in March of 2019 in Detroit, along with my husband and six children, ages 14 to 28. Belly Full Of Soul offers a variety of delicious soulful dishes and an array of extraordinary dishes with a twist, unlike many of the alternative food entrepreneurs in the surrounding area. Belly Full Of Soul started as a home-based business and has gracefully grown into servicing the community, hosting catering events, pop-up shops, farmers markets, business luncheons, and much more. Since starting Belly Full Of Soul, we have experienced ups and downs, more so due to the limitations of the pandemic. Thankfully, business is still striving. I am determined to share my BOLD passion for cooking with my community.

I have always enjoyed cooking. Having such a large family, I became accustomed to preparing quality meals in large quantities. It always brought me much delight to receive gratitude, compliments, and see the happiness my family expressed while enjoying meals I prepared with love. This was when my passion for cooking grew stronger. Therefore, I decided to make a career of it. After graduating from culinary school in 2017, I strongly desired to own and operate my own food truck. To my surprise, in 2021, my son gifted me MY VERY OWN FOOD TRUCK!!! I am so anxious to put this blessing on the road, so that I can provide better service to my current supporters, reach new ones, and book more events. Unfortunately, the financial aspect of owning and operating my own food truck has been deemed quite overwhelming. My success at being road ready will be immensely delayed without your support. My goal is to raise $4,700. While Belly Full Of Soul will continue to operate per usual, the funds being raised will start the process of licensing, inspection fees, upgrades of cooking equipment, propane tanks, a cold prep table, a sufficient size generator, and a new wrap or paint job, the previous owner's wrap and information is still currently attached. I am looking for this business to become a legacy for my children. All donations will be greatly appreciated and gracefully received.
