Melissa’s Miracle (Updated)

Thank you to everyone who has donated since we launched the campaign to help Melissa and her tough battle with pancreatic cancer. Below is an updated story. Thank you for taking the time to read.

My name is Eugenia Tzoannopoulos and I along with Massage Envy Fairfield, started this Go Fund Me to help one of our special team members with her fight towards pancreatic cancer.

For those of us who know Melissa, we can all attest to her being one of the most beautiful humans on this planet. As a massage therapist for over 20 years, she had the most magic hands along with a healing heart of gold. Over the years, she helped countless customers and had a following that waited for appointment openings as she was always booked. Over the years she also had some ailments that impacted her body causing pain. Melissa never let her own challenges get in the way of helping others. No matter what, she had a smile on her face and an energy that showed how much she loved what she did.

We started this go fund me when Melissa was diagnosed over 16 months ago with pancreatic cancer. Over the last 16 months, Melissa fought through tough treatments and a very challenging surgery. Through her faith in God, her willingness to keep fighting and her positive outlook, she was able to conquer pancreatic cancer and was in remission for a short time period. What a relief and joy it was to learn this, especially since the fate of pancreatic cancer is never a positive one.

Unfortunately, we recently learned a not so happy update on Melissa's health. Melissa has another battle ahead of her, this time cancer is in her liver. Traditional medicine is no longer an option. Of course, knowing Melissa, none of us can accept that this is her fate.

Melissa has decided to fight through a holistic treatment plan but she really needs our help with prayers, encouragement and of course most of all the financial support since she has not been able to work since her diagnoses over 16 months ago.

Melissa has bills to pay to live, even while being ill and undergoing treatment all this time. Things like rent, groceries and basic living expenses for her and her daughter Lily. The state's resources have been very limited and so banning together we can really help to surpass her goal.

Everyday Melissa is an inspiration. I know most of us sit in awe as we are watching her fight a battle that is both physically or mentally excruciating. Even through this battle, she is positive shining light.
