Help Melissa & Jesse with Medical Bills

Hi, my name is Bret and I have been best friends with Melissa Shackley for 24 four years and when she found and married her soulmate I was so excited that he not only fit her...but he was the kind of man that would take care of her and their daughters. Jesse took a woman who was broken and hurting and made her happy. To me, he will ALWAYS be a hero.

 

Jesse has not been feeling well for some time now. After seeing the doctor and getting blood tests done they have found that there are several issues. Firstly, they are having troubles regulating his blood sugar levels and he has to have insulin shots several times a day to control this. They also realized that his liver was not functioning properly. After getting the results of the MRI back, the doctor has found that Jesse has tumors, lesions and portal hypertension in his liver which is being caused by cancer. His liver has begun to fail. At this time they are waiting for an appointment to find the recommended treatments and to see what stage the cancer is in. Meanwhile, Melissa is taking extra work to try and pay these bills that are already showing up and to have enough cash to pay for insulin...all while being his primary caretaker.

 

Obviously, this is emotionally devastating and prayers would be welcome and cherished. However, without insurance the bills are stacking up fast. Although they are trying to get signed up for insurance, they already have accumulated thousands of dollars in bills. In fact the insulin alone is over $600 every month and a half. If you have any extra please consider helping the Shackley family. Let's help them get through this ordeal with one less concern on their plate.

UPDATE: Jesse suddenly passed away on Dec 23rd. So, I have changed the total we are trying to raise to $10,000 so that we can help with funeral expenses.
