Help Melissa Overcome Medical Debt and Heal

My name is James Lackey. As some of you may know, my dear wife, Melissa, has been struggling with breast cancer. She is now in peritoneal dialysis as a result of her birth defects.

She is a Christian educator and mom, currently serving part-time as assistant spiritual life director (chaplain) to the students of the small Christian school we've been privileged to serve over the years. This summer, between doctor's appointments and treatment, she is tutoring.

Currently, we're just drowning in medical debt and transportation costs to doctors. For the past few years as her health has declined, along with some help and insurance, we've paid everything in keeping with our payment plans plus much extra but, nonetheless, are receiving stacks and stacks of bills from collection agencies.

As you well know, the cost of rent and making ends meet these days is a task in and of itself, but we appreciate anything you can contribute that might keep us out of court over these medical debts as she improves and tries to survive as mom, wife, and servant to so many.
