Help Melissa's Family Through This Tough Time

My amazing Grandma lost her only biological child, Melissa Highsmith-Reynolds, on Sunday Morning, September 8, 2024. Born, on August 7, 1969, Melissa was a double amputee since 2016 and suffered from Lupus, Type 2 Diabetes, Neuropathy, as well as many other medical conditions. Melissa fought hard, loved harder and was an absolute warrior.

While she wasn't biologically related to the Yant family, you would have never known that! Our family was blessed to have her become an official family member in 1981!!

Melissa was a single mother to 13 children (and has now been reunited with her daughter Faith in Heaven), and a loving grandma to 21 grandchildren.

Unfortunately, Melissa did not have life insurance or set funeral arrangements, so it is falling on her family to handle current and future financial situations.

Her youngest son, Nolan (18) is in high school, and an aspiring basketball player. Nolan lived with his mom until her passing, so this has been extremely difficult on him especially. While continuing to balance high school, his education, basketball and work, Nolan now has the burden of finding a new place to live as well as a car. Any financial help would greatly benefit Nolan with current and future goals and dreams.

Melissa was always there for everyone, even if just to listen, and she would not want her family to worry about financial burdens and challenges. Please know her entire family appreciates any financial help and of course any prayers. Melissa is definitely smiling down on her children and family, knowing everyone came together to support and love one another!
