Help Memphis Get The Surgery She Needs

Meet Memphis. This 8 month old kitten is a victim of the recent tornados and the destruction that they left in their wake. Her family lost everything, including their home, and little Memphis nearly lost her life. After being crushed by two falling sheds, she was left with a fractured leg, a fractured pelvis, a dislocated hip, and a paralyzed tail. With nothing left, her family knew that they couldn’t give her the medical care she needed and elected to euthanize her. However, the little cat looked at the clinic staff with such vibrant life in her eyes, purred nonstop during her exam and x-rays, and mustered everything she had left to stand despite her injuries. In light of this little miracle, the veterinarian/clinic owner offered to adopt the kitten as a member of the clinic and give her the fighting chance that Memphis begged us for. With grateful tears in their eyes, her family signed the surrender forms. While Memphis has a long way to go before she will make a full recovery, our staff has promised to do everything possible to give this young cat the chance at recovery that she so desperately needs. Memphis requires a specialty surgery to repair her pelvis and dislocated hip as well as an amputation for her paralyzed tail. Despite the extent of her injuries, she shows promise every day by continuing to use the bathroom, eat, move her legs, and even stand. She never stops purring, even during her daily physical therapy. Memphis has so much life left in her, and she deserves to live a long, happy life. She looked at us with light in her eyes and begged for a chance, and our staff promised to give it to her.
