Hi, my name is Shamus O'Connor, and I’m reaching out during an incredibly difficult time. My beloved wife, Mercedes, has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. As we begin this fight together, we’re facing emotional and financial struggles we never imagined, and we’re turning to the kindness and support of our community to help us get through.

The Journey So Far

Up until now, we’ve been able to manage, but with Mercedes’s diagnosis, our lives have been turned upside down. She’s the love of my life, my partner, and my best friend, and we’re committed to facing this together. Unfortunately, her diagnosis has meant an immediate and severe reduction in our household income, as she’s had to stop working to focus on treatment and healing.
