Help Micaela Achieve Her Olympic Dream
Micaela is the hardest worker you’ll find in every room she enters. Over the course of her 14-year throwing career — from junior high to high school, high school to Purdue University, Purdue to coaching and training in Kentucky, and now on the biggest stage of her career — she has excelled. After placing second at the Olympic Trials in discus, with a personal best throw of 62.54 meters (205’ 2”), she now stands at the gates of her childhood dream — the Olympics.
As mentioned at the beginning of this story, Micaela is intrinsically hard working. But, while her work ethic is unrivaled, she needs help to realize her Olympic dreams. Two additional international meets stand between Micaela and her goals:
Goal #1: Throw the Olympic standard of 63.50 meters
-or-
Goal #2: Improve her world rank to 32nd or higher (currently 36th)
And time is ticking. We only have until the end of the month to help her meet one of these goals! With Micaela’s 2nd place finish at the U.S. Olympic Trials, once she accomplishes either one of these goals, she will be heading to Tokyo 2021!
So what can we do to help? Simply put, we can give what we can and encourage others to do the same. Micaela needs to raise $2,000 by Wednesday, June 30 in order to afford travel-related expenses associated with these international competitions, ultimately allowing her to take her Olympic dreams into her own hands. With just days left to raise this money, please consider donating to her campaign, sharing the link with your friends and posting about it all over your social media accounts. Our friend has put in the time and effort, so let’s help her with this last little bit!
