Help Micah, Nick and Benny Rebuild After Fire

Micah, Nick, and their sweet baby were just on the cusp of starting an exciting new chapter as a family. On Christmas Eve, they closed on a beautiful new home with their whole lives ahead of them. Barely two weeks later, the devastating Eaton wildfires destroyed not just their apartment, but reduced their new home down to just ashes and smoke.

There is nothing left. The photo you see above is what remains of their home in Altadena.

Nick works as a film editor, Micah is a public school teacher at Blair Middle and High School in Pasadena. Their son is 7-months-old. They are hardworking and incredibly kind people who have lost almost everything.

As some of their closest friends, we are so thankful that they are physically unharmed, but know they have a long road ahead. We are creating this GoFundMe to help them find safe temporary housing, replace all of their belongings including nearly all of their baby gear, and begin what will likely be a long, complicated process of trying to rebuild a home they fell in love with and lost before even spending a night.

This GoFundMe is created by dear friends of Micah who have known and loved her for over a decade. Micah and Nick are loyal, funny, wonderful people who would and have gone above and beyond for the people in their lives. As their friends, we feel we must do whatever we can to support them through this tragedy.

Their next steps are uncertain, and they will never be able to replace everything they’ve lost. But especially with an infant, they deserve to start anew as soon as possible. Any amount you can contribute toward our goal of supporting them is much appreciated.

Micah and Nick believed in the value of living and working in their community - Altadena and Pasadena. Their hearts are broken from the loss of their home but also from the loss of their community. They want to focus on rebuilding both.
