Help Michael Havey Recover from Brain Surgery

On Wednesday January 5th Michael Havey had emergency brain surgery.

 

As an infant Mike was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus; a rare condition that causes excess cerebrospinal fluid to buildup deep within the brain. This puts pressure on the brain and creates unpleasant symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, balance issues, blurred vision, migraines, etc. Mike has a VP shunt in his brain to help with his condition and has undergone multiple brain surgeries over the past 30 years.

 

It takes at least a month of serious rest before Mike will fully recover and start working again. It is incredibly hard to focus on healing and recovery when your income is halted, living costs are piling up, and so are the medical bills.

 

Mike is a youth pastor at his church and has been involved in fundraising for non-profit hospitals for over 5 years. He is an incredible person who does so much to help others in the community. I am asking for his community to give back to Mike for all that he does and help him get through this difficult time. Mike would never ask for assistance, so I am creating this GoFundMe for him and asking anyone who can afford to please consider helping. Mike currently lives independently with his dog, Nugget and cat, Bruce. All funds collected will go directly to Mike and help pay for the costs incurred as a result of his surgery, including medical bills.
