Help Michael March with the Bluecoats in 2025!

Hello! My name is Michael Revilla, and I am beyond excited to announce that I’ve been offered a contract to march with the Bluecoats Drum and Bugle Corps for the 2025 season on Tuba! This is a huge honor and a big dream come true. Being able to perform with one of the most prestigious and successful World Class organizations in the marching arts is something I’ve worked toward for years, and I couldn’t be more thrilled for what comes next.

I’m 17 years old and from Flower Mound, Texas. Over the past eight years, I’ve developed a deep passion for Marching Band and the Marching Arts. I’ve been hard at work to improve upon the skills learned in high school marching band. Marching in a World Class Drum and Bugle Corps, especially one as respected as the Bluecoats, is the next big milestone in my journey.

What is Drum Corps International (DCI)?

For those who aren’t familiar, Drum Corps International (DCI) is the highest level of competitive marching music in the world. Think of it as the NFL of Marching Band. It's a unique and exhilarating experience where some of the most talented young musicians and performers from all over the world come together to create inspiring performances. DCI is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be part of something bigger than yourself, to learn from some of the best instructors in the world, and to compete at the highest level. But it’s not just about competition—it’s about pushing boundaries, forging lifelong friendships, and creating memories that will last forever.

This will be my first time marching in DCI, and I am both excited and humbled to join the Bluecoats for the 2025 season. The experience I’ll gain, the skills I’ll develop, and the memories I’ll make will be irreplaceable.

The Financial Realities of DCI

However, marching with an organization like the Bluecoats comes with significant financial costs. The full tour fee for the 2025 season is $6,300, which covers a wide range of expenses, including travel, housing, meals, rehearsals, instruction, and more. This fee ensures that the Bluecoats can provide top-notch experiences and it’s an essential part of making this world-class experience possible. While I am fully committed to making this dream come true, the financial aspect can be overwhelming, especially as a high school student.
