Help Michael Sperling fight covid pneumonia

My name is Jacqueline Sperling, I am trying to raise money pay for my fathers $1,000 copay and $4,000 deductible for his health insurance. Unless we pay this, he will not be covered 100% by insurance. There is a lot of fees as he has been in the ICU with covid pneumonia for over 2 weeks.

 

He had been on an oxygen mask for 2 weeks but then had respiratory distress and they had no choice but to put him in an induced coma and on a ventilator to keep him alive. His condition is so bad that they had to transfer him from a Texarkana, TX hospital to a Dallas, TX hospital by helicopter.

 

He was very lucky to get 1 of 4 of their ECMO that is becoming life or death for my father. To start ECMO treatments you cannot be on a respirator for more than 7 days, so we were on a severe time crunch to get him the treatment he needs to have a fighting chance at surviving. ECMO is only used in few hospitals and there is usually a waiting list for treatment. It takes un-oxygenated blood and filters it through a machine to oxygenate it and it is then put back into the persons body. It helps with the heart and lungs.

 

By the grace of God my dad got a bed. My family and I are very stressed and worried about my fathers health, that is our main concern; but also paying his bills and maintaining his assets so he has something to come home to that he has worked so hard for.
