Help Michaela Heal: A Family’s Fight After a Hit-and-Run

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a desperate plea for help. My cousin Michaela is fighting for her life after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At just 26 years old, Michaela had her entire life ahead of her, full of hope, dreams, and plans for the future including starting her new job at Children’s Hospital in the ER on January 6th. Now, she’s facing a long and difficult road to recovery—and we need your support.

The crash, which occurred on January 1, 2025 left Michaela in critical condition, suffering multiple severe injuries, including several broken bones, head trauma and spine. Each day is a battle, but she is showing incredible strength and resilience.

However, the physical recovery is only part of the challenge. Michaela will require ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and extensive physical therapy. In addition to the medical costs, we will need to make modifications to her home to accommodate her new needs. This will include making the house wheelchair-accessible, which will be a significant financial burden for our family.
