Help Michal and his girls after their tragic loss

Dear Family, Friends and Supporters,

Our wonderful 41-year-old cousin Gudrun passed away from a very aggressive form of breast cancer just a few days ago and leaves behind her husband and two young daughters as well as her parents and older brother who are now reeling from the shock of this tragedy. She was diagnosed just a year ago while pregnant with her second child – she fought like a warrior and they all kept hoping against hope that a miracle would occur. Unfortunately this was not the case and our cousin lost her battle on September 14th 2023.

Everyone who knew Gudrun loved her for her gentle and loving spirit - she accepted everyone for exactly who they were, she loved meeting new people and travelling the world. She was an avid hiker and explorer, active and sporty and she enjoyed being outdoors and in nature whenever possible. She helped anyone who needed her expertise in legal or business related questions and was highly academic. Her husband and two daughters were the light of her life and she did everything she could to protect and nurture them even when she became very sick.

After her tragic death, her family are in financial dire straits due to an ongoing renovation of their home, which they had started with the hopes of creating their forever family home, the loss of income from my cousin and the fact that her husband started his own company just a couple of months ago thinking he would be able to support his sick wife more when working from home. He has, of course, not been able to work in the way he had expected to be able to and now will also need to focus on supporting their daughters to accept their new reality with as much stability and love as possible.

In this time of shock and grief, we want to do everything we can to support Gudrun’s immediate family through this unimaginable pain. This GoFundMe is supported by her husband and her mother, and all funds raised will go directly to Gudrun's family to cover costs related to the funeral service and the many other additional expenses her husband will be facing as a single parent.
