Help Michele Recover
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family and Kindhearted Supporters,
My aunt, Michele Bond-Docherty, lost her home of 17 years in the Upper Hastings Ranch area of Pasadena, CA. She and her partner were caught in the Eaton Fire that burned their home in the middle of the night on January 7th, 2025.
The high winds caused the Eaton Fire to spread quick throughout their
neighborhood, leaving very little time to grab essentials, photos, electronics and valuables. The hillside directly behind their home became a raging inferno, surrounding them with burning embers. After loading the car with 1 suitcase and their cat, Kippy, Michele found her partner in the backyard with the hose attempting to save the home by watering everything down, however the water pressure was too low. Both were able to safely evacuate the fire zone. Wanting to stay as close as possible to watch the burning hillside, they huddled in the car
in a nearby parking lot. Upon sunrise, they were allowed to return and found their home completely destroyed.
I’m launching this to help Michele take the first steps toward recovery. Please donate if you can. Small donations of $5 and $10 are meaningful. Your donation will help Michele:
• Search for a new home
• Replace essential items, such as clothing and toiletries
• Replace personal computer to access important accounts
Thank you to all the first responders and GoFundMe community for all the support!
Sincerely,
