Help Michelle Fazzari Fight Against Cancer

Michelle has been diagnosed with cancer. She is the strongest person both physically and mentally that we know. We absolutely know that she will overcome this and win this fight - as many of you know, she's no stranger to overcoming the obstacles life has thrown at her. Michelle has dominated her weight class at both a National and International level for years. Cancer has nothing on her. 

Michelle has always been the first person to help her family, friends, and community. I always joke around and have nick named Michelle Mother Teresa whenever she tells me about all her extra coaching, helping friends, lending a hand to family and friends, and volunteering within her community. Now it is our time to help such an amazing and caring person. 

As many of you know, Michelle was training for the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo. In January she moved out to Calgary to continue her training. In March, Michelle took home another GOLD medal in Rome. At this time, she did not know she had cancer, but was incredibly tired and had pain...and yet she still DOMINATED! This just goes to show the incredible strength and determination Michelle has! 

Here is a bit of background on Michelle's journey so far. Since September Michelle has been back and forth to different Doctors, Specialists, and ER's countless times and was constantly overlooked. Michelle kept fighting to find answers about her health. It took at least 10 different doctors/specialists to finally get a proper diagnosis. On April 16th, Michelle was diagnosed with cancer. That night, our parents flew Michelle back home on a red eye. Our parents picked Michelle up from the airport and drove her straight to Juravinski so we could get more answers. 

Today marks the 6th week since finding out. We know that it is Stage 3C and has spread to her lymph nodes. 

A lot has changed for Michelle. We are raising money to help Michelle during her fight against cancer. She will be at the hospital daily for treatment and will eventually go to London for specialized treatment. 

We are also raising money to aide in Michelle and CJ's emergency fertility journey. Michelle is also seeing a Naturopathic doctor with the support of her Oncologist. The cost of all of this is in the tens of thousands of dollars. Just the vitamin therapy alone is approximately $800 weekly.

Our number one priority is to get Michelle healthy again. We know that she is strong enough to fight this. CJ is off on a leave from work and is holding her hand every step of the way. Her family is right there beside them to make sure their needs are taken care of. 

Michelle and CJ are not ones to ask for support. I know that this will help them in their time of need. I do respectfully ask that you stream all your positive messages of healing and strength to this post and to please respect their need for privacy at this time. As you can imagine, this is a lot to process and Michelle needs all the rest she can get <3 

A HUGE thank you to family and friends who have already helped Michelle out. From dropping vitamins and food off, to the staff at Juravinski Hospital, and to friends driving her car in Alberta back home to Ontario. Words cannot even begin to express the gratitude we have for each one of you.
