Help Midwest Books to Prisoners Send Books!

Since 2004, Midwest Books to Prisoners has been sending books to people incarcerated throughout the United States, free of charge for people incarcerated. Since the pandemic started, we have seen requests for books quadruple. This means the cost of shipping has also quadrupled for us.

Currently, we are sending about 75-100 packages of books (each package has 3-5 books in it) each week! This is about $350 a week in shipping costs. 100% of our donated money goes to the cost of shipping so that people incarcerated can continue to have access to books.

But we need your help to continue to send books! Please consider donating a few dollars to help us continue our mission. We are a completely volunteer organization and run off of community donations. Our work has always been important, allowing people incarcerated access to educational materials and connection to the outside world. However, prisons across the United States are actively banning access to books and mail, so the work we do is very important!
