Help Migrants Sent To Washington From Texas & AZ

Hello. My name is Amy. Thank you for visiting this fundraiser.

I am a Washington D.C. resident helping the community-based organizations meeting buses sent by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey. There have been more than a hundred buses carrying more than 10,000 asylum-seekers east since the crisis began on April 13th. Migrants needs are unknown until they step off the buses.

This fund directly supports efforts to help migrants once they arrive with new socks and underwear, hygiene products, food, phones and other essential items. As they go through the intake process, many are supplied with bus and plane tickets to get to their next destination, where they have family and friends waiting. We help with those travel funds and lodging as necessary while they wait to depart. Some wish to stay in the area. Funds are desperately needed for these individuals as they often have difficulty raising funds for rent and security deposits.
