Help Mike Bouse recover from a lung transplant
UPDATE, April 15:
Mike is doing great and breathing on his own. The doctors say that he can be released tomorrow to go home. This is amazing news, please continue to remember Mike as he recovers.
UPDATE, April 8:
Mike is awake from surgery! The Doctors say everything looks good and the new lungs are working as they should. They are now working on stress testing his lungs (turning the pressure off on the respirator and seeing how much air he can breathe in) to figure out when he can stop using the respirator. They expect him to be in the hospital for a week to 10 days, they want him out as soon as possible giving the COVID risk of being in the hospital. Good news on all fronts. Thank you for your continued support.
UPDATE, April 7:
Mike went in this morning for the double lung transplant procedure. As soon as we have word on how things are going, we will share. Please continue to donate and help mike recover fast. We increased the goal to help him out as he recovers. Please keep Mike in your prayers for a fast recovery as this is not the best time to be in the hospital.
The Goal:
Our good friend, Mike Bouse, has a degenerative respiratory disease and is facing a lung transplant as soon as a donor lung becomes available. He hasn’t even had the surgery yet and already his out of pocket expenses that insurance won’t cover are staggering ($11K last year alone just qualifying to get on the list).
These expenses are to the point where he’s not able to do the doctor recommended a number of respiratory physical therapy sessions needed to keep him healthy enough for the surgery. We, his family and friends, want to make sure money doesn’t stand in the way of his receiving these lifesaving treatments and are asking for your help. Can you please donate $25, $50 or $100 to help Mike cover some of his out of pocket medical expenses? Every donation, regardless of amount, would be greatly appreciated. If there are unused funds from this after Mike’s surgery he will be donating them to Donate Life America. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
